More About Brittany
Hey!! My name is Brittany Jones, and I am from Raleigh, North Carolina where I live with my husband and our two beautiful children. I am a DONA International certified Birth doula and DONA trained Postpartum doula. I also hold a Bachelor of Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Psychology and a Master of Arts from North Carolina Central University in Clinical Psychology. I have over 7 years of experience working in the mental health field. I am a board member and member of the North Carolina Perinatal Association. I have always admired the sacredness of the process of bringing another life into this world. From the tender age of 7 I always knew that I wanted to help mothers and babies. I remember spending my time watching A Baby Story on television and learning all of the medical ins and outs around having a baby. This passion and drive to help mothers and babies in conjunction with my own lived experience of giving birth is what sparked my interest in becoming a doula. I have a passion for and commitment to addressing disparities in both mental and physical health for Black, Brown, and historically marginalized people. I am a big champion of self-advocacy and shared decision-making. I want people to feel empowered so that their voice is heard throughout their maternity care. The most important aspect of doula work for me is helping families build healthier communities. Understanding the vulnerability surrounding this time in life, I work to ensure that I am supporting families in the ways that feel best for them. I bring authenticity and professionalism to any birth that I attend and practice humility in my clients' space.
